This headlamp is bright. There are 2 separate buttons that control 8 modes of operation including SOS flash, red beam and red SOS flash. There is a brightness level for a variety of needs. The headlight component has a tilt function with 4 different settings. I bought this product for first use when we have a power outage and I ran some tests with results that really impressed me. At night in a dressing room in total darkness I tested it to see if I could comfortably read a book if I wanted to. Wow, it works great for this use. I also tried all the lighting settings and again the results were very impressive. To see how the unit would perform in very dark conditions over a much larger area, I did a test in my kitchen/family outdoor area early in the morning and the whole area was lit! This is great equipment. The USB charging capabilities were a very important feature that I needed when purchasing a headlamp. Comes with a very nice high quality case. There are only a few downsides. The small instruction booklet included in the scope of delivery leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, it contains incorrect information; Namely, it shows a picture of the back of the battery case and indicates that it is a charge indicator. The image that appears in the Revain description correctly states that it is in fact a safety taillight and not a charge indicator. I copied and printed the Revain description and photos to keep with the unit as it is a much better option than a booklet. The headband isn't the most comfortable, but that's definitely not a problem. I also bought one of these headlamps for my wife and she didn't think the headband made any difference at all. I've only had this device for a short time, so I don't know how it will perform over time. Judging by the excellent quality and high build quality, I have no reason to think it won't stand the test of time. I will post future updates if anything changes. Bottom line, if you are looking for a quality device at a really good price, I recommend that you give this item a serious look and compare it to others on the market.
