So far this holder works well with my iPhone 8 Plus. Holds my GPS but the GPS is a little thicker and barely holds it. It doesn't move, slide or bounce when hitting potholes and the like. So it's stable. If you don't center your phone in the mount, the camera will open and you can use your phone as a dash cam. The holder works perfectly horizontally (landscape mode). Cons: The holder's mouth is a bit low. Also, they made a hole for phone charger on one side but not on the other side. This is important as one end will pop out a little and the other end will pop out just a little as this provides tension to hold the phone in place. . The end with the hole should be up as the fully extended side will meet the dashboard. Because of this, if you use it in portrait mode, your phone must be turned upside down when you want to plug in your charger. They should have slots/holes on both ends or just the pull end that doesn't pop out as far as you want it on the bottom. difficult to use in vertical mode. There is an adjustment that allows the holder to slide up or down at the point where it connects to the holder's neck, which I hadn't noticed before. This gives more room for the end with the hole to be at the bottom. For this reason I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I still think there should be a hole on both ends as one end has more play but with the setting it works fine.
