Product unusable. Too small for horizontal use and too large for vertical use. I didn't read the specs because I was convinced they would make a useful product. For example, do not check if there are tomatoes in tomato paste.

I LOVE the base! However, the phone holder doesn't hold the new iPhone for extended viewing and is awkward to move. I bought another model with the same base and gifted this to my daughter who has an older and smaller iPhone. It works great for her.

I tried using it with my Motorola Droid in a shockproof case but it kept falling out because the arms are too short for a phone with an attached shell were. Without the case everything was fine except trying to plug in the cable. The hole in the power plug bracket is too small for some of the plugs I have. I ended up hiding these in my closet and bought another mount with longer arms and a much larger plug hole.

This has no suction. It stays on your dash under the weight of the beanbags holding the phone holder. A car rental I used in 2012 had this design for the navigation. It stays in place while driving. You don't have to stick it to the car to keep it in place. Perfect for travel when you want to use a rental car and don't have a phone holder with you. I would buy another one but they seem to be sold out when I checked

I have had a different brand dashboard mount since I bought TomTom. This proved painful from the start; it slid off the dashboard, the suction cup from the GPS to the dashboard kept losing the suction cup, and I ended up with the GPS unit on my lap or on the floor. So far this holder works well with my iPhone 8 Plus. Holds my GPS but the GPS is a little thicker and barely holds it. It doesn't move, slide or bounce when hitting potholes and the like. So it's stable. If you don't center your phone in the mount, the camera will open and you can use your phone as a dash cam. The holder works perfectly horizontally (landscape mode).
