Review on Standard Motor Products V226 Valve by Ken Hamdan

I installed this valve on my 2006 Hyundai Elantra and it fitted perfectly; Didn't buy it from Revain though. Bought an Elantra a few months ago. The engine has done 128XXX miles and has had problems idling along with heavy acceleration and oil leaks. I removed the old PCV valve and it didn't rattle when I shook it, so I knew right away it was clogged. I also removed the valve cover and noticed a lot of burnt, hardened oil, particularly in the breather area where the PCV attaches, indicating a failure of the PCV valve. I cleaned everything, installed the PCV on the valve cover, then installed the cover on the engine. When I started the engine it was like day and night; the restless idling was gone, the engine ran great. Well, not every engine idle problem is related to the PCV valve, but since it's so inexpensive and easy to remove/install, it should be one of the first things to consider when troubleshooting problems like this.
