This gauge is for any welder, hobbyist or professional. It measures fairly accurately using the known dimensions of the metal stock and wire. If you check the gaps with a good quality digital caliper you may find slight variations, but this shouldn't be a problem if the helmet falls off. The seller sent 2 hours after the order, the next day I received it. I recommend going with it. Of course you could make it worse.
