Review on Yescom Ceiling Frosted Downrod Reversible by Satsuki Silva

Parts are missing and it was miswired from the factory

TLDR: 1 mounting screw is missing 5 cutter washers are missing Very little space to mount the receiver with house wiring Harness was not properly connected Cut off my joint attaching the Lighting kit lamp screw with too much resistance - one of those beeps in particular comes out loud every time a button on the remote is used (and there are no manual switches so it has to be used). It's quiet and works without hesitation. I replaced the previous fan. This is an old house so there was no electrical wiring in it. In my house, cables run through a hole in the ceiling. The mounting bracket is solid and after replacing the missing screw I was sure it was secured in the batten and plaster ceiling. However, the remote receiver fits into a very narrow opening between the ceiling and the fan mount, which made it difficult for me to make wire connections with my old wire covers. No shortcuts to building blades and I found I was missing 5 washers (only 10 included out of 15). I only used 2 washers per blade and left the 3rd screw free. If they sent me more I doubt I would go back and add them. When I attached the lighting kit, I connected a wire and tugged to make sure it was secure. When I did the second, it collapsed and I cut my ankle on the metal edge of the lighting kit. No matter how many times I tucked it in, I could pull it out again (without releasing the tab), so I tucked it in and left. When I went to check it, the remote control was messed up. Fan and light came on at the same time or not at all. After lunch I returned to check the wiring. I reopened the ceiling mount and it was apparent that the remote connectors were miswired (wire colors did not match). And yes, I connected the wiring harnesses correctly. It's designed to only connect one way, so I decided to remove the wires and replace them, but it wasn't easy. I ended up just plugging it in, flipping it over and pressing against the button. The belt was not fixed, but sufficiently tight and did not tear. Bulbs are screwed in with too much resistance. I was afraid that the bulb would detach from the base. In particular, I had to use dielectric grease on one of them. Ready. Now it works as it should and looks nice. It's just a lot harder than it should be.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Can I add something
