Review on πŸ•ŠοΈ XICHEN10PCS Vintage Sealing Glue Gun Sealing Wax Wax Sticks Wax Seal Supplies in Various Colors (Black) by Gelin Battle

A rich, glossy wax that is easy to use.

This was my first experience with sealing wax that works in a glue gun. I started using wax seals to make standard mail special about six months ago. In a technology-driven world, I love the feel and attention of "real” mail. I started with wax sticks, where you light a wick and then drip the wax onto the envelope. They were tricky and messy, and I later learned that the wax for them often broke in the mail. I was hesitant to try the sealing wax for the glue gun because it seemed like a departure from tradition. But now I've returned. This wax is beautiful, shiny and rich. This requires a low-temp (not thin-bore) "big" glue gun. I only have a hot glue gun this size, but I found that it works great if you turn it on and let it heat up until the wax starts to melt, then turn it off and glue. After each warm up I could do 10-20 seals. It took a dime-sized puddle of wax to make enough wax for each of my seals. I used them for my Christmas cards and they went perfectly with the Christmas tree print. I thought I would miss the flame and process of using sealing wax with a wick, but the great end product and ease of application make this form of wax my new favorite.
