I have a 2003 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. I used this along with the new gasket on the outlet flange of the catalytic converter where it is hits The resonator The old gasket was badly worn, resulting in a large and unpleasant exhaust leak (noise, vibration, smell) I replaced the gasket with a Walker gasket and rounded the spring bolts with them, but the vise saved the situation along with a generous dose of penetrating oil. - sticks to the threads. Only problem is not a perfect seal. The car now drives perfectly, with no noise or vibration, but when I put my ear to the flange at idle, I heard a barely audible hiss , suggesting a tiny microscopic leak, I'm not sure if that's normal but the presence of some sort of exhaust sealant on a stem would probably help seal it along with a couple of washers on the bolt. When I tightened the nut it reached the bottom of the threads so I feel like putting a washer under the nut can tighten the gasket a bit. These bolts hold the resonator and catalyst assemblies together as they are about half an inch apart without the bolts. It would be helpful to add a washer or two to bring the flanges together a little more. Overall, it fits almost perfectly, if not perfectly.
