This tool is a complete scrap for cutting acrylic ceiling light panels. I understand that this tool is only for scoring plastic, not for cutting, but the performance of this tool is just terrible. While this thing has a nice solid handle with good grip, that's where the positives end. Not only was this tool extremely blunt (despite listing it as "super sharp", but I could squeeze it firmly in my finger and feel nothing (I definitely wouldn't do that with a regular blade or office knife, for example) . . Even if you use all your physical strength on this item, this item can only leave superficial scratches on the records, with minimal dust coming from these scratches. You can try to repeat this 30-40 times but the result will be exactly the same. Absolutely nothing but scratches on the surface. I ended up going to my local hardware store and bought something for about half the price (1 blade Plaskolite utility knife) and was only able to score the panel by pushing it through 5 passes (it should be quite a bit of soft dirt when you pound on it, otherwise it works not right). Although made really cheaply with a crappy handle and cheap materials, this item got the job done for half the price. I would not recommend this item if you plan to use it to cut ceiling lights.
