Review on πŸ”₯ Thermalright Liquid Metal Thermal Paste: High Performance 79 W/mK, Silver King CPU Paste with Cleanser and Spreader - Perfect for All Coolers! by Mark Loebis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good - dropping 20C

Recently cleaned the computer and changed the paste but the temp was still pretty high. I have decided to remove my processor and replace the paste under IHS as the processor is around 4-5 years old at the moment. That being said, I also used this liquid metal paste on the GPU. The caps and resistors next to the cores have been coated in clear nail polish - this seems to be recommended as the liquid metal is conductive. since it is metal. After a quick test I have a 20C drop on both the CPU and GPU. If these results last I will be very happy. Also Core3 doesn't run 5C hotter than the rest anymore. It looks like Delid was a good idea. Now some info in case anyone is interested: - The GPU test was performed by running the Heaven test in a static scene (so the camera was not moving) until the GPU temperature stabilized. - CPU test was performed with Cinebench. 4 times until temperature stabilizes - All fans keep constant speed with SpeedFan - Fans from GPU cooler are controlled by motherboard and speed fan, not by GPU, so fan speed set by MSI Afterburner doesn't matter - Fluid flow between CPU and Paste and IHS used, and IHS and cooler and between GPU and cooler.

Pros
  • fingers crossed
