I bought these when I was getting old and also recently had an operation that made it impossible for me to raise my arms up. I liked the quality of the magnetic clasps. They easily attached to my favorite chain and made it easy to remove. So far the magnetic clasp has held the necklace in place and I have had no instances where the magnet has been lost or accidentally dislodged. One thing I noticed, and probably my only complaint, is that the extra weight of the clasp seems to shift down and end up next to the pendant on my chain. As a result, it falls in front of me instead of falling behind. This needs to be monitored frequently.
