Review on 🌞 MG1000-450W: High-Performance 12V RV Security Flood Light with Motion Sensor, Battery Monitoring and EMI Suppression by Todd Taniguchi

Not Terrible Not Great

Just installed this light on my RV. The good parts are mostly electronic beats - I think it's bright enough. 450 lumens isn't much by today's LED standards (and certainly dimmer than a vintage halogen motion-sensing headlight), but it will do the job of illuminating the side of a bus and deterring potential thieves. - Day/night mode and low battery alarm are intelligent design features. I like the slowly flashing light in night mode, which indicates an active car alarm. The bad parts relate to the physical design and subtract a star for each: - Really difficult to get sealant on the light/wall seam part. located behind the "Pod" motion sensor. The container is not level with the outer wall, but a few millimeters away from it. If you can't do a perfect waterproofing job, leave room for water to seep in. This aspect of the design is not convenient for installation. The gasket that seals the Fresnel lens to the instrument body is not tight. in a groove so it falls out when you try to hold the lens up to the light. In the end I sealed the gasket with putty. It's all packaged in some sort of anti-theft blister that tries to cut your fingers. What is really needed instead is a disappointment-free box. These can all be solved without much design/engineering effort.
