It works, somehow. - Garage and Storage

I have this to let me know when I get too close to the tool box on the side wall of our garage. I tried hanging a tennis ball but the garage door moves the ball when I open it. As others have said it tilts if you use all the extension poles (I have a truck) so I had to glue a dowel on to straighten the pole. flies. but the light goes out what i needed. Even with the pieces missing it still works and I can still use it to gauge how close I am to hitting the body. Is this the ideal solution? No, but so far it works.
