Review on πŸšͺ 103" Wide Extra Wide Swing Baby Gate: No Threshold, One-Hand Operation, Hardware Mount - Ideal for Oversized Spaces, 60"-103" Wide by Michelle Reitz

Not the best, even for the money.

I chose this gate because I have 2 entrances of 76" each so needed 2 and everything else for this size is almost double the price. where to start Box, the first thing that struck me was that the wood was literally sawn and pieced together. It's poorly ground, not finished at all, and even the shavings are sticking out in all the places where they were previously made. I have a 10 month old Escape Master and didn't have time to sand and polish everything before installing, especially as I had 2 of these! Next version, instructions are simple but doable. For something that needs to be durable and bolted to the wall , there are no anchors in them. Luckily I have hands and I already have some left. Now we come to the installation. I did it, but let me tell you, if you don't have a drill, it's going to be pretty darn hard to drill a hole. I don't have it, so I borrowed it. It's time to fix it! *sigh* You need to hook it on the bottom ear first and then press the latch to hook it on the top ear. This mechanism is not the best. It's difficult for those who don't have much dexterity like my 6 year old or my elderly mother who has it installed now. He swings like crazy. My baby can make a lot of noise when shaken and the parts that allow him to stretch slip and almost pinch his fingers! Overall I'm very disappointed with this but couldn't afford to buy 2 of better quality due to the significantly higher prices.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
