I bought this at Barnes & Noble at 50% off. It's definitely not optimal. But it's the only one I can work with, so I'm happy. I usually strain the matcha through a jar of powdered sugar (like a spice jar with a strainer on top) in the morning. But with this shaker. I can put water and powder on one side, shake, and then strain the mixture onto the other side while I prep in the morning (this takes a few minutes). A pleasant foam forms on top. And it tastes great without the grit I get with a frothing stick from undissolved matcha. I don't use it to drink and I don't add sugar or milk, so I just rinse it off with a hot water dispenser and shake it a few times. It works perfectly with this method as I haven't found an alternative (I would prefer glass). Do not add boiling water. This not only harms the matcha tea, but also creates too much pressure inside this device. Use an appropriate temperature for matcha or colder temperatures.
