Considering the cost of this unit, it's of pretty poor quality - the screw itself looked like it was plastic. It was cheap and I'm sure an angry boy wanting milk and biscuits could force the door open using this deadbolt. I tried installing it but without much success. The instructions were ridiculously confusing and you had to look them up in a separate app. The most frustrating thing was that the locking lever was broken from the start! It was impossible to adjust to my door and whenever you were able to adjust it it just rebounded before you could reattach it! I'm a tech savvy person - I've installed numerous latches, not to mention electrical (including ceiling fans, light switches, doorbells and thermostats), flooring (tile and laminate, plumbing and drywall). But this bar tried my patience! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're a strong advocate for a Nest-exclusive smart home. which I finally (and very happily) chose.
