Worst Smart Lock for Door Hardware and Locks

This product is by far the worst lock I have ever used. I have experience with Schlage and August both of which are much better. As other reviewers point out, the lock is extremely sensitive to its position on the door and the tightening of the screws that hold it in place. He also doesn't seem to know when he's working and when he's not. 60% of the time we get the message "can't lock the bolt" and about half of those times the bolt is actually stuck. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT BUY THIS OR OTHER NEST PRODUCTS!

This was the MUCH worst customer service experience I've ever had...even trying to call DELL support...it's MUCH WORSE. I spoke to NEST on the phone for over an hour. Before that I was on the phone with Revane and Yale. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, factory reset (which is ridiculously difficult) many times and explained that the electronics are NOT WORKING, even put my phone next to the lock when it clicked and refused to turn around so the support -person would do it. Peace of mind with this lock

We always left a door or two unlocked overnight so I bought these to prevent that from happening. Now all the doors lock automatically and I no longer have to check them at night before going to bed. The Nest system is pretty cool, each person gets their own password and it's very easy to change the codes to something easy to remember. You can program any lock to auto-lock after 1 or 5 minutes, but that's about it. I would like to have more options with this feature. We had a Nest Pro to…

Clean trash is the best hardware

Considering the cost of this unit, it's of pretty poor quality - the screw itself looked like it was plastic. It was cheap and I'm sure an angry boy wanting milk and biscuits could force the door open using this deadbolt. I tried installing it but without much success. The instructions were ridiculously confusing and you had to look them up in a separate app. The most frustrating thing was that the locking lever was broken from the start! Yale lock appears to have failed in privacy mode - Yale and Nest are working together

Updated with a post of 18 Aug 2018 - I downgraded my rating from 5 to 2 due to a serious reliability issue. I'm about 8,000 miles away, in the middle of the ocean, and my lock seems stuck in privacy mode. The iOS app works fine, I can lock and unlock from the app but no code works on the door. There is a message as if privacy mode is enabled. I can turn it off in the app - still not working. I asked someone to come into the house and turn privacy on, then turn it off, then turn it on and off…

It's time to correct some people's misconceptions.

EDIT: I misunderstood a detail, Google Assistant does NOT open the door, it only locks it. I tried it this way, assuming it would work both ways, but it didn't work. Doesn't affect my rating or opinion on this, just thought it would be useful information. I'm checking the pros and cons, but after seeing the "best rating" on this product is a derogatory review due to a lack of knowledge about installation and usage (it was all in the manual and app) and I thought I would will check answers.
