Updated with a post of 18 Aug 2018 - I downgraded my rating from 5 to 2 due to a serious reliability issue. I'm about 8,000 miles away, in the middle of the ocean, and my lock seems stuck in privacy mode. The iOS app works fine, I can lock and unlock from the app but no code works on the door. There is a message as if privacy mode is enabled. I can turn it off in the app - still not working. I asked someone to come into the house and turn privacy on, then turn it off, then turn it on and off again and check their code on the keypad - no joy. The keyboard blocks all codes. There is no one who can perform a manual reset at home - above their skill level. What is now my biggest problem with this type of lock is blocking. I need my nanny to get in and out with her code. Worked until yesterday, about 6 weeks, no problem - now it seems to have failed. Whether the lock is partially out of order or some other issue, the Yale and Nest troubleshooting guides didn't help. According to the app, the battery is good. If reliability is an issue then it should go out and be returned for a refund. At the same time, the Nest x Yale lock is partially out of order and does not work as it should. Celebration. Easy to install in my door, others may need additional door modification. This lock fits my standard door. One of the recommendations is to make sure and do a factory reset before testing the installed lock. This should be the default setting for the test. Another thing to pay attention to is the depth of the hole in the door frame to install the bolt. Mine was about an eighth flat and failed the test. A sharp wood chisel fixed it in minutes. Programming is easy. Nest Connect connected to my network on the first try. The Nest app monitors and controls the lock - so far very secure. All in all a good product that does what it promises. Delivery from Revain was fast as usual, packaging was fine.
