IF YOU LIKE CANNED TOMATOES OR ANYTHING SOFT, YOU MUST HAVE THIS!

Sorry if this is long, but I'll do a thorough review, address the issues that others have written about and provide some helpful tips when I can . I am 67 years old and have been canning for almost 50 years. As an old-school guy, I've always blanched, peeled, cored, cored with a strainer/pestle, spent hours doing these things and completely messed up the kitchen. This device does all of this in one easy step. Assembly: Read the instructions several times and look at the diagrams. It's easy if you follow the instructions and use a little intuition and common sense. Make sure you attach the screen correctly and don't forget to tighten the screen thumbscrew. There is no hole to insert; It's a pressure landing. Several people have complained about the leak. I didn't even have them when I first used them. He may have forgotten to tighten a screw or put in a screen gasket. It is important. Stabilize the jig: You have suction or C-clamp options. I started suction and when you use it don't forget to dampen the suction with some water. It sticks better to your surface. I had a bit of suction issues, but it's easy to reapply, even in the middle of an application. I did this on my kitchen counter so I turned on the suction and added a C-clamp that doesn't damage the countertop because it never touches it. Together they made the device durable. Application: Fill the funnel with quartered tomatoes. It holds a lot and use the stomper to guide them towards the spiral snail. In some reviews, the pounder seemed weak. I think it's correct. Yes, it's plastic, but you can feel what you're doing. One review states that the edges of the twist drill (plastic) became rough and the reviewer was concerned that pieces of plastic would break off and fall into the pan. maybe there was a problem. Raise the pusher and send more tomatoes down the hopper. Tip: The spiral auger presses the tomatoes against the mesh, and since the sieve holes are small to accommodate seeds that need to be pushed into the waste bin, the mesh can easily become clogged. tomato flesh. That is a good thing! That means all good things go where they're supposed to. If you feel the unit is getting stuck, scrape the blockage off the outside of the screen and place on the chute. You can't hurt yourself. The screen doesn't move. Again, everyone advises feeding the trays/seeds through the device into the tray. I did, but only once. What turned out to be trash the second time around was almost dry. Cleaning: no problem. At least I didn't think so as it didn't involve wiping down the walls! Tip: When you're done, keep turning the crank for a minute. There is still debris in the drill bit and you should remove as much of it as possible before disassembling the tool. You still have to do some cleaning, but that is unavoidable with every device. Rinse and wash the parts in soapy water. Note: Some reviewers don't believe this is dishwasher safe. Didn't try it as my dishwasher was busy sterilizing the jars. I personally think it would be dishwasher safe. The metal frame just needs a wipe down, but I wouldn't hesitate to put the plastic parts on the top shelf of the dishwasher. When in doubt, remove them at the end of the wash before the drying cycle begins, but I don't think even that is necessary. Many reviews consider the waste hopper unreliable. This is the most fragile of all parts, but I don't see a problem with that. Be gentle with him. It goes on and comes off with little trouble. Don't drop it. If it does crack or even break I'm sure it's an inexpensive replacement or use clear tape or even duct tape to fix it. Ultimately, it has nothing to do with actually using the device, which I'm sure I could use without. Overall I am in love with this product! It does what it's supposed to do and is strong enough that I'm sure it will last longer than I did. Final thought: I was a bit hesitant to buy it because of the price. I mean for the price how good can it be? Don't be put off by the low price. This is a quality device!
