I hate peeling potatoes. This thing doesn't make me hate it. You can actually use it to peel tomatoes, great for sandwiches/paninis. I've tried peeling cheese and it works, but the slices aren't thick enough and it seems easier to use a knife over time. A cutting board in combination with a vegetable peeler is also useless for cutting thin slices - it doesn't really work. The straw tool appears to be sharp, but I haven't attempted to do anything with it. Just take this knife. It works back and forth and is made from a nice polished steel material. I think I'm buying it for a group of family members.
