Candle lighter, electric lighter with battery indicator and safety switch For some reason my husband wanted this when he saw this. So now we have it. This plasma lighter works perfectly once you realize that there is about a 6mm dead zone between the off and on positions for the sliding motion and you have to push it *hard* all the way down to get it into the on- position clicks. Then slide it back and *safely* push it into the off position. In either case, the final on/off click feels a little too much, like the switch has a non-intuitive design. Lighting fuel works quickly even in windy conditions, and the arc does not go out like a match. It charges fairly quickly, but the instructions on the back of the box warn you against leaving it plugged in or it will overcharge the battery and shorten its lifespan. For the price, you can get used to the slide switch as it works well in everything else. Recommend.
