As this was my first spoke tension gauge I have no comparison. But it seems accurate and very easy to use. My only complaint is that it has a slight "sticking" when adjusting the tension gauge, but this can probably be remedied with some light lube. Sticking is more pronounced at high values, but minimal at values typically used for road bike wheels. And the last remark. I used to think that tension gauges were only needed for making wheels, but I've learned the hard way that when testing your own wheels, it's better to have one. Trying to rely solely on the pitch of a torn spoke can keep the wheel in position for a while, but eventually uneven spoke tension that you can't tell from pitch alone will ruin a perfectly good rim.
