With this and a repeating YouTube video (and lots of swearing) I was able to replace my friend's disc drive. The part works great and as others have said you have to move the metal bar towards you which is easy to figure out. Installing in the door is tricky, but it's just part of the job, not part of it. I would recommend tools for trim removal so you don't break anything and be careful with the screws on the door. Effective replacement screws are easy to find at hardware stores, which is what I did to replace a pair that almost snapped off.
