We originally had a doorstop that was fixed to the floor but placed horizontally to prevent the door from breaking. I couldn't find anything similar at Lowes or other online stores. If I remove it completely there will be a big hole in my real wood floor so I left the bottom part instead. Since we didn't have a doorstop, my kids opened the front door and eventually the doorknob went through the wall! I know I can fix it with drywall and some paint but I literally painted every ceiling and room in the house about 6 months ago and lost the paint pattern :( The walls are grey, so I found them and they have everything fully covered! Looks elegant and well made. The door bounces off it when the kids push it open hard. I like the larger size as I had to close the hole! Bonus is that it's gray (not a perfect combination of grey, but looks like how I wanted it) lol
