Review on Dayco WP199K1A Engine Timing Belt by Chris Sanders

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Do not touch Dayco for belts, hoses and pulleys

Timing belt kit installed 4 years ago and only 30000km (I drive very little). The roller started shedding grease right out of the box and became rough after 6 months. I replaced it. I inspected the belt today and found that the surface had cracks about every inch - surface cracks about 1/2 inch long. This belt is expected to last 100,000 miles but I'm replacing it now, I don't want to lose my engine over it. Do not touch this brand. I don't even want to imagine installing a water pump from them. Once you have it installed, check the water pump every few months before it's too late.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
