I was happy to use this to locally expand the hollow floating shelf cavity for the rod channels. I used a cheaper drill bit in the past, but I needed a longer one. for this project. The cheaper auger was exactly 3/4 inch in diameter. It's 11/16"! See photo (you have to trust me the calipers are calibrated). It was useless for my purposes because it fit into the floating recess of the shelf without touching the sides. I have to counter it swap in a 13/16" snail. " which I can assume will be 3/4" in diameter.
