The seller sent me a defective mat which was previously returned by another buyer as evidenced by the torn plastic bag that the mat came in. Mat. However, I can say that although the rug is very thin, I think it would work great as a BBQ rug. It seems to absorb the occasional blob of fat that comes with grilling. I'll probably think twice before using it where there will be a lot of oil/grease, but for the occasional drip, it will be a good protector for your patio or patio.
