Review on ๐Ÿฑ Cat Mate Electronic Collar ID Disc: Enhancing Feline Safety and Security by Marianne Green

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works, reads well, but has flaws (price, noise, size)

Works with a Cat Mate door and offers good range, but overpriced and has for what it is one serious downside, it's noisy. Also, since they will be on cat collars, you know that some of them will be lost, so they should be sold in at least two packs. I also wish they could make it smaller or even incorporate a collar as the door easily reads it even from a distance so the smaller size should work fine after reading the implanted chip which is a lot smaller. And a big downside, it's noisy. Not only does it sound but act like the surface of the speaker, it seems to have an air space inside that amplifies that noise and makes it very noticeable. I came up with a partial solution to put a zip tie around the keyring and an RDIF tag (where they meet) to block most of the noise, because to a cat, silence is life.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Not everything fits
