It does an excellent job of what I usually use it for: grating cheese (which I do a lot). Preparation of breadcrumbs. (Can't find any gf breadcrumbs I like). It's very similar to using my large food processor, but it's less bulky, easier to clean and I think it's better for some things, although the motor isn't as powerful as a food processor. I wouldn't recommend finely grating parmesan or chopping nuts. It puts a strain on the motor, but I still prefer grated parmesan and it works great for that. It also doesn't work well for some vegetables like celery. I've had mixed experiences with things like carrots and cabbage.
