Review on Dark Power Pro 12 BN647 1500W Power Supply - ATX, ๐Ÿ’ช Modular, 80 Plus Titanium Efficiency, Fully Digital with Almost Silent Silent Wings Fan. by Adam Stone

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good PSU (DP12 750W)

Looks like I'll be the first to review the non-professional Dark Power 12 series here as it's brand new. Although the two series are grouped together in the same Revain listing, they are different and are even produced by different OEMs. The pro version has a digital platform while the non-pro version has an analog one. The power supply is very good: looks good, everything is finished and well finished, the cables are thick enough but flexible enough to be padded, covered in black. I like that the fan is always on as it silently cools the various internal components under low to medium loads - and it's quiet even under heavy loads. When you first turn it on or wake up, the fan spins up briefly to let you know it's running, then slows down to a low speed where you can't hear it. By default, the PSU is in multi-channel mode. If you don't install a jumper or switch, it will remain in multi-drop mode, which is recommended to protect your components from overcurrent. I did not install connection cables and switches; left them in the box. The power supply emits a low and steady electrical noise that can be heard from about 1 to 2 feet away in a quiet room when the power supply is outside the computer case. Once the power supply is inside the case or more than 4 feet from the case, it is completely inaudible. I haven't had any audible coil noise with the PSU or my graphics card yet. In fact, I never hear the PSU at all, except for the initial brief (maybe 1 second) fan spinning at the beginning. the non-pro version doesn't, I checked. If you set the power switch to the O position, the motherboard will not receive power. Any lights that are lit will dim and go out after about 1-2 seconds (after the capacitors in the power supply are discharged from the accumulated charge). Overall I am very happy with this power supply. High efficiency, quiet, excellent overcurrent protection with multi-channel design, and the ratings were excellent with very low values for ripple and voltage deviation. At the moment, the Cybenetics A+ has an average noise level of just 18.92 dBa in terms of noise characteristics; Waiting for the full review to be published.
