Very good replacement part

After living with a broken cover for several years I decided to do something about it. Research led me to this product and I believe it was the right choice. Here's my review: The device came in a normal box. The lid was in a plastic wrap and the remaining parts (bolts, 2 springs and a bracket) were in a separate box next to the lid. I advise being careful when opening the box as it was sealed well and my first thought was to use a sharp object to cut through the tape. If I had been less careful I might have cut the product open as the box wasn't much larger than the lid. There was no packaging material, but then again, this product doesn't need it either. Quality: I noticed that the build quality seems to be pretty good. The "skin" texture is a little more noticeable than the OEM version and the stitching isn't as high quality, but overall I'm very happy with how it looks. The color was very acceptable, as was the way the lid closed once installed. There is a small gap, but this may simply be due to the gasket near the latch. The block does not move and closes with a pleasant click. You can see the finished product installed in the picture. The top cap is the product, the bottom one (dirty and broken) is the OEM cap. Note the differences in colour, grain and stitching. In my opinion, none of them are stunning, especially for the price. Installation: The device does not come with any instructions. Fortunately, there are videos on YouTube where this is not a problem. Searching for "Chevy Center Console Cover Replacement" will provide many examples. Some videos suggest filming the entire block but I found it unnecessary. At first I didn't have a torx handy and wanted to see how easy it was to work with the entire console in place. A: On a scale of 1 (easy) to 10 (difficult), replacing the console cover while leaving the console in place is worth around a 2, maybe a 2.5. The only tool I used was a rubber mallet, which I used to remove the original pin (using the replacement pin as a punch) and put the replacement pin back in place (using the original pin as a punch). The whole process only took about 10-15 minutes. Don't forget to fold the seats back for easy access to the pin when removing/installing. I am very satisfied with this product. If you're looking for a quality replacement console cover that looks like the OEM version and is easy to install, this is a solid choice. Hope that helps.
