I bought this product to deodorize carpets and it worked great. It was sprinkled on the surface of the carpet, causing a mess but absorbing odors. I think putting a good amount in a porous bag can also work and be neater. Have also used them in a tray with much better results. I poured a light coating at the bottom and added cat litter at the top. Zeolite crystals get into the litter when cats use their boxes and scoop out the used litter. With the addition of this product, odors are practically non-existent! Very satisfied!
