Review on 16 inch Acacia Wood πŸ”ͺ Magnetic Knife Holder for Wall - KEEMAKE by Ricardo Ware

Maybe there are better options

If I had more time I would do it myself. Sliding dovetails are best used in hardwood, not this material. The bottom line is that the screws holding the dovetail in place split the edges of the dovetail. So if you don't want to use a CA and some kind of dovetail mount accelerator, you can go for a harder wood material. Buying something just because you don't have time is not a good excuse to buy another poor quality product. Great concept but not very good execution. The unit itself is attractive, I don't want to make it a permanent fixture, so buy some good quality magnets to mount the sliding dovetail and then put it all back together. Apart from these few things, you make your own choice. Next time I'll just make one. Attached you will find pictures of this magnetic knife block. Holds the blades pretty well. As you can see I attached it to the fridge with some pretty strong magnets. In no case should you order cheap magnets. They came from Revain, I put three of these on a dovetail and it holds up well on the fridge. For the time and effort involved mostly no, this is a good cheap solution/alternative to a knife block. And best of all, you won't damage the paintwork of the refrigerator and you don't have to punch holes in the wall for installation.
