Review on ๐Ÿ“ฆ UnderCover SwingCase SC400D Truck Bed Storage Box for Toyota Tundra - Drivers Side by Chad Moser

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The perfect complement to the 2014 Tundra Crewmax or any truck!

EXPERIENCE: Okay, here's the deal. I ordered driver side and passenger side swivel covers for my 2014 Tundra. When I received it I went to inspect the contents and the driver's side was perfect but the passenger's side had a cracked cover. I called Revane and they were great. immediately sent another. Received it the next day and it was safe and sound, but this time the support bracket attached to the case was installed upside down. They are riveted and cannot be changed without drilling out the rivets and damaging the box. Another call was made to Revane who apologized for the problem and again sent a replacement. BIG AMAZON! I received it overnight and the new one that arrived was perfect. I think the third time is the appeal. INSTALLATION: These boxes are exceptionally easy to install. The instructions are easy to read and follow. Make sure to "dry" install the box and bracket by holding them against the bed of the truck where they will be installed. I also recommend using a good quality drill (requires torque) when installing the bolts to the truck bed. These are self tapping screws. I drilled holes for the taps to keep the screws from dangling while drilling through a thick layer of Line-X sprayed body wrap to access the truck body sheet metal. a handy vacuum cleaner (like the Shop-Vac) to suck up any metal shavings from the drill bit. They're very small and sharp like wood shavings, so you don't want them getting stuck in your hand, your finger, or god forbid your eye. was very easy and probably took no more than 10 minutes per box. I have now loaded both crates with emergency gear and road tools which greatly increases the weight of each crate. They work just as smoothly and effortlessly as before. very impressed how easy they are to unlock, protect, operate and delete. THE BAD: Aside from the two defective ones I originally received, the only negative for me is that the plastic body of the Swing Case is THIN. Much thinner than I thought and I wonder how much abuse they can take over time. I thought the plastic was a lot thicker like the Rubbermaid Action Packer or something. That's definitely not true. My advice: if you are carrying something heavy and poorly tied, either remove your suitcases temporarily or protect them from damage with a blanket or something similar. Thank you Revain for great customer service! Despite the difficulties mentioned above, I still recommend these cases. I would give it 5 stars but with two obvious manufacturer quality control issues I couldn't. Also, they're great, especially for the guy who likes to have those emergency/error items ready for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. :)
