Okay, the jury is still out on durability.

I bought this collar to use around the home, garden and park to reduce wear and tear on my $800 Garmin GPS/training collar. I've only been using it for two days, so I can't comment on durability yet. Here's what I know so far: 1] The stimulation is not a continuous tingling or stinging as long as the button is held down. This is a series of sharper clicks that repeat as long as the button is held down. While it's not necessarily a bad thing, it's not the same as the constant tingling you see with more expensive training collars. Even the lowest value of 1 will result in the dog reacting more strongly than desired. I prefer a softer tingle. It's enough to remind the dog what he's doing wrong, but not enough to make him run back to me. 2] The vibration mode is related to the discharge setting. The higher the shock setting, the longer the collar will vibrate when this button is pressed. On setting "1" it's so short that my dog doesn't even notice. 3] The horn is loud and works great even in moderate wind and noise. I use it instead of voice commands. 4] The battery life of the included collar seems to be quite good. Lasts a second day on a single charge.5] Overall, "It feels solid, but the receiver attaches to the collar the same way a watch attaches to a watch band. So if the collar breaks, you don't have enough energy. โ€ business.5] Reach seems good. I've only used it at about 200 yards, but it was reliable at that range.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
