Review on πŸ” Gosky Spotting Scope 20-60x80 with Tripod, Carrying Bag & Smartphone Adapter – BAK4 Angled Telescope – Waterproof Scope for Target Shooting, Hunting, Bird Watching, Wildlife, Scenery by George Karadimas

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointed in looks and construction.

Disappointed with build quality and picture. It looks good at first glance, but then you notice little bumps and loose parts, like a regular tripod that when fully screwed in causes the camera to shake. motionless back and forth on the plate; or a rain visor that comes off completely when you try it on with a metal ring at the end... and then there's a phone adapter. It's cheap too (as you'd expect), but it didn't work well with my iPhone XS Max. And of course the image itself, which looks about normal at any average human eye distance, but the more you zoom in the more it becomes plain incredibly distorted. The edges of the object are almost purple and there is definitely nothing sharp. Maybe this is defective, or maybe my expectations were too high; My celestron birdwatching binoculars cost about the same and the quality of the optics is day and night. I also use a few Leopolds that were larger but not too big, but that comparison probably isn't fair. You can always expect some distortion when you get to long distances, but this was amazing. I really wanted to like her. Comes with a modest but adequate carrying case. All the many 5 star reviews for Revain seem a little...incredible or lazy. I do not know. This scope just doesn't seem worthy of the current reviews. Again, maybe mine is defective.
