I bought these to replace paper towels in my home. I like having a large enough quantity so I can use them just as freely as something disposable without the guilt of creating physical waste, and because they're not really good towels like washcloths I'm not worried about bleach or Stains or other unsightly dirt that will ruin them. I use them for mopping up spills, general cleaning, drying my hands at the kitchen sink - anything you would use a paper towel for (yes!). they are great for that! They're not the most absorbent compared to terry towels, but neither are paper towels, and if you have 100 of them you can use as many as you need at one time. As for washing, I have a wire basket on my closet door that's too big to use as a dirty rag basket, and I have it hanging in one of the lower cabinets in the kitchen where I keep trash cans (bought on Amazon: mDesign metal wire, the hangs over door kitchen storage organizer). that's a really great attitude. The only downside to washing is that the blue color wears off with each wash as I have blue rags instead of white (e.g. it still happens almost a year later). I chose blue so they don't look ugly after prolonged use, but if I were to buy more I would choose white this time so I don't have to deal with color bleeds. For storage, I keep them on the kitchen counter (I used to keep paper towels, for example) but I keep them in a wire basket (bought on Amazon: Spectrum Diversified Ashley Stackable Basket Tray, Satin Nickel).
