I was looking for silicon carbide because I needed to frost a sapphire lens. However, these sheets of sandpaper can't scratch the sapphire, which SiC should be able to do (and I've used other brands that have done this before). Sapphire is a fairly hard material and therefore only silicon carbide or diamond abrasive will really scratch its surface. Of course, sandpaper is great for just about anything else. but I rate it low because with the best tests I can tell it's not a SiC abrasive as advertised. If the seller wishes to dispute this I would be happy to change my rating if better evidence can be offered.
