I was looking for a lock that would make me feel safe with my new bike. I bike to the grocery store and like to take long green road trips where I can stop and have a picnic. I wanted the lock to be less bulky and heavy than a standard U lock. I also didn't want those soft chains that rattle and interfere with your smooth, comfortable ride. I also found out that soft chains don't have a very high safety rating while researching this. I've read several bike gadget reviews online and FOLDYLOCK has appeared on several. I liked the flexibility and the very high security rating. The AU lock restricts what you can lock your bike to. It's arrived and it's heavier than it looks! From the picture you might think it's just plastic, but it's just a coating on durable metal. It's not as heavy as the U-lock for lifting. It also makes for a much nicer profile when attached to the bike. With U-locks, you're more likely to want to keep them if you think you won't need them because you'll be cramming your knees in and they'll take up so much room on your bike's frame. Very very happy with this lock. If you want/need flexibility in buckling up your bike and want to feel secure when getting off your bike, this is the lock for you.
