To be honest we bought this to get rid of the bad smell of nicotine and pet pee. The rental house we bought was terrible, to say the least. I bought it to remove odors. We removed all fibers including the ceiling tiles in the house. It's gotten a lot better, but I still have soot in every room and we still have odors. I resorted to sprinkling vinegar on poor wood floors that pets used as toilets. It seems the aid was more than carbon. If we clean and paint all hard surfaces I'm sure the odors will go away but I may have expected miraculous results from other posters.
