Review on Secure Your Pickup Truck's Tailgate with POP & LOCK Manual Lock for Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra - PL1050 (Traditional Lock) (Black) by Eric Ross

Revainrating 4 out of 5

PL1059 is a good lock for older 4th generation Chevy vehicles, a more secure screw can be used to secure it.

Not bad for an extra security method to back up an already installed locking system I've had since the 90's but I didn't like the one way screw! So I didn't use it and was looking for a security screw to remove if needed, but not without a key socket or something and it can't be tampered with easily! When they need a back door so badly, they get it. all it does is either push someone away who might be waiting for the 5 seconds it would take to remove the tailgate without them but if they really want it they will get it but in this case with something Effort and time they cannot exist! sad that we have to lock up everything that's ours and pay more money for these things to keep, bastards! castle, hence 4 stars. Mine installed with no problems, except I decided to use a different screw for now. By the way, I had no problems with the operation of the gate! Mine is always lubricated (another reason I didn't use the one screw that came with it) and it got lubricated again, but I don't slam my gates either, I've always lifted the handle when closing and then slowly released it with little effort. Push the gate to ensure it is locked when the handle is fully released. Just my way of doing it and a lot of it how I deal with the hood and doors, sometimes I can make one more try to close the door while waiting to see if the window is open or not!
