    better fit and security in the tailgate locks

    not easy, the tab on the bezel broke and still couldn't install it well enough to put the screw in, will try later but something is wrong, maybe change something ; update to make it work when you remove the bezel cut the bezel where the lock will sit on the inside edge of the bezel along the curve of the lock cut it to the length and width of the metal so it is flat rests on rest of bezel, only maybe a sixteenth of an inch and the width of the plate, i did this with a dremel tool with a cut off

    Not worth the price.

    I bought this for my 1997 GMC Sierra 1500. Instructions were fine, printed on paper with blurry images and lettering. I installed the lock as instructed, but when I pulled the handle to open the tailgate, the lock jammed the handle mechanism. I had to remove the lock and cut some metal in order for the handle and internal mechanism to work properly. When I reinstalled it, the lock wouldn't lock the handle.     Worked fine for a few months then broke.

    It was quite difficult to remove the stock plastic trim from the tailgate handle. I followed the instructions but the clips at the top broke. However, I reattached it with the Pop&Lock installed and it stays in place. The lock worked fine for about 3 months then stopped working. I can't remove it because it holds the plastic trunk handle in place (broken clips above). But it doesn't matter if the lock is locked or not - just pull the tailgate handle and it opens.     1998 Chevy K2500 Part No. pl 1050

    everyone on the internet said the pl1050 fits the 1988-1998 Chevy K2500. I think technically it is, but the amount of modifications I had to make to the product was ridiculous. I don't write reviews but this really disappointed me. Maybe I just got a defective item that I don't know about? I had to bend the tab that the screw attaches to so you can get it to take the screw and fit into the hole. More specifically, I had to clamp it in a vise and drive it in with a hammer.     PL1059 is a good lock for older 4th generation Chevy vehicles, a more secure screw can be used to secure it.

    Not bad for an extra security method to back up an already installed locking system I've had since the 90's but I didn't like the one way screw! So I didn't use it and was looking for a security screw to remove if needed, but not without a key socket or something and it can't be tampered with easily!
