No wonder this thread is of lower quality than DMC thread, but if you are just starting out in embroidery or just want a variety of colors without spending a fortune, this is a great choice! I find this thread harder to separate and easier to confuse than DMC, but the price doesn't bother me at all! I embroider, not cross stitch, and have found that when used this thread looks very dull and not the slight sheen that DMC thread has. I have also given some of these strands to my nieces to make bangles and when I asked them how they liked it they had no complaints. The colors you get are random but when I ordered I got a good range of shades of green which is what I was hoping for. Now that I have a good range of colors I'll probably switch to DMC thread as I'm running out of colors but if any of my nieces show an interest in embroidery/cross stitching I'll buy them! the thread on my photo is from this set, but 90%!
