I bought this zester hoping all the few naysayers would be wrong, but found myself in the mech camp. Here is my experience. Once I got the momentum, I tried it on a kara-kara orange. I tried this for a while and didn't get the urge. My teenage daughter (no doubt sure her mother was just incompetent) tried it with the same result. Trying as hard as we could, we went over the same spot on the orange and saw that spot on the orange get a little lighter. We worked a few minutes and got a lean swing. I later decided to try lime. The lime worked much better, producing a very thin rind and, as people say, no white pit at all. It's almost impossible to get the flavor out of it. This works very well for very hard and small fruits. I plan to return it as I'd rather have something I can rely on.
