I never leave home without this pen

I'm new to calligraphy so I buy and try a lot of different pens - dip, ink, markers. This is by far the best pen I've found for what I'm currently doing - practice, practice and practice again. The ink flows very evenly and mostly on command. I have a Rotrig pen with different tips and it always clogs a little or doesn't flow without coaxing. Once it does that I love it, but a little hassle every time I try to use it makes me reach for that pilot button instead. (I could be - maybe I need to do something other than flush the pen with water from the included reservoir - but after doing everything I can to get the ink to flow more freely, it still doesn't. .) Enter the Pilot Parallel pen. Well, it was a revelation that it doesn't take time (and pen strokes) to make any kind of mark. I've had this pen for about two months now and I'm very satisfied. I was able to progress much faster than if I had to struggle with a nasty writing instrument. I also like the versatility of being able to play with pen angles. I can do a lot of different line widths with this pen and my "beginner" calligraphy looks damn good. I still like the dive grip best, but when I'm training on the go or in between, I love the simplicity and the authentic results. My favorite is the 1.5mm and I have all the tips Pilot has to offer. But since I'm a beginner, I prefer to keep my mistakes small.
