Review on Time Standard Cleats Xpresso I CLIC2 by Peris Holland

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They just don't last.

Confession: I've been using Time pedals and cleats for about 20 years. The pedals were almost bulletproof in their day and have lasted a very long time (I still have two sets from the early 2000's). When Time switched to "composite" materials, their quality dropped dramatically. I tried several sets of iClick pedals because they broke. The last victim was a set of iclick 12 pedals - the toe broke. As for the spikes, they no longer have brass spikes, they are now composite plastic and just don't last long. I live in South Florida so I travel most of the year. I've been considering switching to Speedplay spikes and pedals for some time as they still have metal components and seem to have great durability. The bad thing is I have 5 road bikes and they all have Time pedals so replacing them all would be expensive. So if you are looking for new pedals and cleats, I would suggest carefully considering your options when it comes to purchase time. Because time is not on your side.
