Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Durability and Protection with KYB SB107 Strut Boot by Andrew Davenport

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Some assembly. and modification. necessary.

Some of the reviews I read made me think people don't learn its application well enough. I made sure to go straight to the KYB catalog and find the correct parts according to the manufacturer. I'm here to tell you that your catalog is a bit different. For the rear of the '94 BMW 525i you will need this boot/fender for use with your Excel G damper part number 341081. The problem is that the stem of this shock is larger at the top than the fender opening. Didn't think parts from the same manufacturer would have installation issues, but here it is. I thought about shortening the fender because it seems longer than the factory fender. (I didn't have it on hand because the previous owner of my car installed some horrible Monroe shocks and left out the bumpers. I'm shocked they failed.) I ended up increasing the ride height since I keep the stock bumper hole drill. The product works pretty well but I can't give them more than three stars for new parts that need modification. Also (if it matters to you) the bumper is white, the trunk is black and they need to be collected. I'm only pointing this out because a representative image might lead someone to believe it's a one-piece design with a solid color.

Pros
  • Protects the top seal and bushing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
