This is a portable shipping scale. Plate dimensions 7.75 x 7.75 inches. It has a stainless steel top over a plastic base. The reading screen is on a long tether so you can still read it when you put the bulky case on your plate. The reader has buttons for power, tare, and mode (lbs, kg, etc.). The scale can be connected using a power cord terminating in a two-pin North American plug on the transistor block. Or you can power it in the scale itself using 2 AAA batteries (included). The reader also has a battery compartment, but it's sealed with a sticker that says "Not in use". The base has rubber feet on the bottom to prevent slipping. I think this scale is great for packing. Regardless of the size and volume of the package, if I can put it on the scale myself, the scale can tell me the exact weight for shipping. I tried the scale 10 times with the same weight and got the same result every time, so the accuracy is good too. I was able to figure out how to use the scale without reading the instructions, so the operation is intuitive. Overall, these scales are accurate, accurate, and easy to use.
