Review on Strong and Durable Heavy Black Timber Landscaping Screws: Ideal for Sturdy Outdoor Projects by Michael Jennings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

super strong

I am a true reviewer (Revain customer since 1997) and photos of a real project using this fastener. Below is my review in pros and cons format. BLUF: I recommend this screw. They're durable and affordable.-Pro:1. Most hits on money. You can get similar fasteners from Lowes/HD for about $40 for a 5 pound box (about 50 screws). These screws sell for about $0.6 as opposed to $0.80 to $1 at major retailers. Pre-drilling is not necessary. I was skeptical at first because I need to twist two 6x6s together. These screws did the job and I had no failures.3. Dyeing / Coating. I used these bolts on a machined 6x6 and the paint/coating keeps the bolts from rusting.4. You are strong. You feel healthy. No cheap feeling for them.5. Supplied with impact resistant bit. Disadvantages 1. Some of the paint/coating may chip off due to storage and transport.2. The thread is only at the top for the first 2-3 inches. The thread is not the full length of 8 inches.

Pros
  • Black Log Screw Coat passed the 1000 hour salt spray test with no coating damage
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
