Review on Red Lion 14942735 Multi-Use Pump by Sean Santhanam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

High hopes were dashed due to a manufacturing defect or quality control issue

I have a Red Lion 2 inch water pump with a Honda engine so I am the previous owner of a Red Lion product. I didn't need to use the 2" fuel pump very often, but when I did need to use it I was very happy with it. Having had good experiences with Red Lion products, I was willing to pay more for this 1/4 HP electric pump pay than some other brands. There has been a lot of water in my area for the last 10 days and as of last Friday there was about 10" of standing water in a small portion of my crawl space. It's not big enough to support the use of my 2" pump (which wasn't going to pump all the water anyway), but I wanted the water to be pumped out, so I paid $4 for the overnight delivery service I get with my Prime membership, in addition to the normal two days to get this electric pump the device arrived today and i read a very brief instruction manual and then connected the device and installed it in my underground i switched it on and it seemed u It worked fine for about 60 seconds and then I noticed a lot of turbulence in the water. The pump seemed to keep running, but as the depth got shallower and shallower, I realized something was wrong. This pump has a seam where the base bolts to the main body and either the seal is damaged or the unit was not assembled properly. It sprays a lot of water in two different streams, but both come from roughly the same place. I'm definitely unhappy as obviously no quality checks were done on this unit but I think they can only pull off the assembly line and check every 100th or 1000th unit, I don't know. Even more disappointing is that Revain doesn't appear to have any other units in stock to send me a quick replacement, so I'll have to spend the coming weekend using a shop vacuum to get the remaining water out of my crawler. Place. I don't reject Red Lion or Revain. This is the first time I've returned a defective product to Revain so I'll wait 2-4 weeks to make a decision and get a replacement pump. I doubt I'll need a pump in a month, but this is one of those things. You want to be ready when you need it. I'll probably have to test it with a bucket or something, so I won't be able to do a good test, but that's how it goes. I give the product three neutral stars. for now and I will try to remember to come back and update this review when I receive my replacement pump.
